Taiwanese contract manufacturer Wistron to hire graduate engineers

BENGALURU: Taiwanese contract manufacturer Wistron, which makes iPhones for Apple in India, has announced its graduate engineer trainee (GET 2020) recruitment programme for fresh graduate engineers, and has tied up with engineering colleges.

Five Bengaluru and Kolar district colleges have joined GET 2020, and successfully settled 80 graduates to regular employment at the grade of Junior engineer in Wistron India with monthly stipend, Wistron India MD Sudipto Gupta said in a press release.

Distinct from the assembly line, GET 2020 roles allocate in more technical and skillful functions such as engineering, quality, OPM, and equipment/machinery, the release said. “It is the second year in a row that Wistron supports institutions which provide education to disadvantaged and socially backward sections of students as a part of its commitment to community. In the Future, Wistron is expecting more colleges and universities to join GET 2020, and together create job opportunities for young talents in India,” the release added.

Wistron operates an iPhone assembly plant at Peenya in Bengaluru as well as an electronic component and medical devices unit at Narasapur in Kolar district, Karnataka.
